MEET THE LADIES

Sue Marriott (TENOR) has been a member of the Greater Kingston chorus for the past 5 and a half years, and already plans to sing barbershop until she’s well into her 90’s!  As if quartetting isn’t enough, she is the Choreographer for GKC, a tenor section leader, the Young Women in Harmony coordinator, and an aspiring chorus and quartet coach.  In her ‘spare time’, Sue is a secondary school drama teacher (which is the best job in the world!)  Sue and her husband Rob live in Napanee, Ontario, where they are currently trying to learn the fine art of gardening.

Lori Snow (BARITONE) joined the Capitaland Chorus in 2000 as a baritone, but switched to lead for two years so she could jump at the opportunity to sing with Magic!  In June, 2005, the quartet reconfigured and Lori found her home again singing the baritone part.  She is the chairperson of the Capitaland Chorus Music Committee, a Lead Section Leader, a chorus emcee, and an ensemble singer. She is also involved at the Regional level, having served as the Regional Awards Coordinator and performing duties as needed back stage during contests. Lori’s alter-ego is a Principal Consultant with Keane, Inc., and a Mom to three Shih-Tzus. Lori and her husband Jeff live in Ballston Spa, New York.
It seems almost magical that the person responsible for first introducing members of the original Magic! quartet - Sue Melvin - is now a part of this energetic foursome.  The ladies of Magic! are thrilled to introduce Sue as their new lead.  Hailing from FOUR different locations spanning New York State and into Ontario, and now representing three choruses in our region, we plan to continue crossing borders to share our love of music!
Sue Melvin (LEAD) is a second-generation barbershopper, who started off singing in a children's barbershop chorus at age 8.  She has been a Sweet Adeline for over 20 years and has been directing the Rochester, NY Chorus of Sweet Adelines since 1996. Sue has been in several medalist quartets, two of which were International Representatives. In her ‘other life’ (IS there life outside of singing?) she is a Vice President at Chase Manhattan Bank and has 3 children: Troy-9, Diana-17 and Greg-41. (Oops, that oldest one is really a husband!)

Nancy Watson (BASS) has been singing with Greater Kingston chorus since 1977. Having filled various roles along the way she is currently a certified assistant director, a bass section teacher, and Region 16 Resource Bank Coordinator. She has been quartetting seriously since 1992.  Chorus and quartet coaching is becoming a part of her busy life.  When she's not submerged in her musical life, Nancy is a Veterinary Technologist and part time faculty member at St. Lawrence College. She has three grown sons - Ted, Kevin and A.J.  Nancy and her husband, Scott, live in Sydenham, Ontario.
