What is the Capitaland Chorus?
Capitaland Chorus was chartered in October 1977 with only 20 members. Over the years, our membership has increased from a handful of local women to a diverse group of women from ages 20 to 70+ with varying interests, backgrounds, and occupations, who live and work in six counties in and around the Capital District.

Education is of prime importance to the chorus and is achieved through the use of international-level coaches and faculty who train us in vocal production, choreography, and showmanship.

Each spring we compete with more than two-dozen choruses from Western and Upstate New York and the Canadian province of Ontario. For the past several years, Capitaland has placed in the top five in this regional competition, capturing first place medals in 1996, 1999, 2002, and 2004.  This spring we brought home the gold for Division AA midsize chorus!

The chorus traveled to Detroit, MI in 2005 to represent our region at the International Competition.
